On March 24, the Sarco Wind Farm of the company AELA Energía started operations, which will be coordinated and operated before the National Electric Coordinator by the Remote Operations Center of Enorchile.

Pablo Caerols, Enorchile’s general manager, said that “for us as a company it is an honor to operate the second largest wind farm in the country, we appreciate the trust placed in us by AELA Energía, which is based on more than 15 years of experience that our company has in the field”.

The wind farm, which has 50 wind turbines and an installed capacity of 170 MW, will generate enough energy to supply the equivalent of 270,000 homes.

Sarco joins the extensive list of renewable energy plants that are currently monitored and managed by Enorchile, which total more than 1,300 MW distributed in wind farms and photovoltaic plants, thus becoming one of the most experienced operators of non-conventional renewable energy plants in the country.
